Additional Panasonic BL-C111A Network Camera Wired Information
|
The camera's built-in sensor is a pyroelectric infrared sensor, which means it uses infrared rays to detect temperature differences within its range that are emitted naturally by people, animals, etc. The sensor can be used to trigger the camera to buffer (i.e., temporarily store) camera images in its memory. You can view these images later as desired. The sensor can also be used to trigger the camera to transfer images to someone or somewhere, by FTP, E-mail, or HTTP. Privacy mode allows you to protect your privacy by hiding the lens inside the camera, preventing camera images from being seen. If users are accessing the camera when privacy mode is turned on, the camera image area displayed in their web browsers turns gray. No camera pages can be accessed by users while privacy mode is turned on. Once privacy mode is turned off, users can press the refresh button in their web browsers to view images again. What Customers Say About Panasonic BL-C111A Network Camera Wired:

Needs to be set up with wired cable, inorder to input wireless information. Set up was a cinch. This camera is a great camera. Can view at night and in day.
The C111 Panasonic is a great choice for those looking for 1-way audio, Pan-Tilt and good recording software in the box. The 111 does MPEG video, which is better then the 311 options and means that the recorded images are very portable and readable by others. I've owned both Axis and Toshiba network cameras in the past and the Panasonic line is far better on numerous counts. I own two of the older model 311's and have recently installed one of these 111's in my house. -Highly Recommended. The sound feature works in Firefox, while the 311's don't. the admin menu for this camera has more options then the 311's, which are nice. The quality of the images don't seem quite as sharp as the 311, but it's still ok for home surveillance.
Pros:- Great image quality- no that hard to setupCons:- There is some sort of a problem with the camera built-in software, after accessing it remotley, it hangs and it needs to be restarted (by POWERING it OFF - ON ) this is very inconvenient where as the main purpose of getting this camera is to monitor home remotley.
I have a linksys and it would constantly lock up my network. Be aware that this camera will conflict with certain routers.
I never would have guessed that it would continue to work but it did. So far I am very pleased with this device. Since it uses an open video protocal, it works well with the IPhone (controls and video fit nicely onto screen), and I'm even able to easily diplay the video on a custom web page. The web server is very easy to configure and use. Through research I learned that the Panasonic chip is one of the best video chips and I can back that up. It may not look very heavy duty but during installation, I dropped it about 7 feet onto concrete.
